02 January 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 99-0682
2.3 , MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
AGE proposes to install one down-gradient, ground water monitoring well off-site (548 East Park
Street), 140 feet northeast of the location of existing well MW- 10, as part of additional site
assessment activities to define and confirm the lateral extent of contaminated ground water at the
70 feet bsg water-bearing zone . The location of the proposedmonitoring well (MW-12) is illustrated
on Figure 2 ,
Following well installation, the well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the
amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well duringpumping or bailing. Procedures for well
completion and development are presented in Sections 3 .4 . and 3 .5 ., respectively. Additionally, the
top of the well casing will also be surveyed by a licensed surveyor.
Ground water monitoring and sampling of the newly installed ground water monitoring well will be
conducted on a quarterly basis unless an alternate schedule or suspension of monitoring is approved
bythe CVRWQCB . Ground water monitoring activities will include recording depth to groundwater
measurements and collection of ground water samples; ground water sample collection procedures
are described in Section 3 .6. Collected ground water samples will be analyzed by a CDPH-certified
laboratory for the constituents listed in Section 2 .2 .
2.4 . REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the workperformed
and results of sampling and analysis . Conclusions, applicable recommendations, maps and
cross-sections will be included in the report. The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD
and CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist,
3 .0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by anAGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for the advancement of the borings, ground water and soil
sampling, monitoring well completion, equipment decontamination and sample shipment are
outlined below.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
