The soil data from this boring also shows a limited
impact to soil from this former tank.
However, soil boring BH-1, located at the former stoddai d solvent tank, showed concentrations of
contaminants from approximately seven feet below grow-Id surface to groundwater. Because site
structures limit the collection of additional definitive soil c ata, two additional groundwater
monitoring wells should be installed to determine the groundwater flow patterns for the site and to
provide additional overall groundwater quality data. Also, soil borings should be installed, as best
as possible, to help define the lateral extent of the contamination found in soil boring BH-1. This
additional information will be used to determine a final action for this site.
Therefore, please submit a workplan to PHS-EHD to fu her investigate the site as discussed
above.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter ir more detail, please contact Linda
Turkatte at(209)468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Linda A.
