FOOTHILL <br /> ENGINEERING <br /> 12793 PADDY CREEK LANE LODE CA 95240 <br /> PH (209) 368-9381 FAX (209) 367-1163 <br /> Mr Michael lnfurna <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services April 26, 2001 <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Mrs Helen Higgins / Vogue Cleaners <br /> 2315 N California Street <br /> Stockton, CA Site code 231032 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Please find below the report of the findings for water samples taken from monitoring wells on the <br /> Vogue Cleaners site on 03/09/01 <br /> REPORT OF FINDINGS FOR PHASE 2 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> EIGHTH SET OF MONITORING WELL SAMPLES <br /> SITE HISTORY <br /> The site has a long history of use as a cleaning establishment and presently has the same use On <br /> June 6, 1996, Thorpe Oil removed two empty underground storage tanks from the property under <br /> a permit from the PIIS/EIID Soil samples from the tank excavation were obtained using standard <br /> methods and locations The sample from under I ank#I was taken at a depth of+/- eight feet The <br /> sample from Tank 42 was taken at a depth of+/- nine feet Both these samples and samples from <br /> the excavation spoil showed evidence of hydrocarbon contamination(See map enclosed) All of the <br /> above samples were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc The location of Tank #1 is <br /> between two structures and is 25' from the closest access point by drilling equipment Tank#2 can <br /> be accessed by vertical drilling equipment <br /> Phase I of the Site Investigation required drilling a slant soil boring under Tank 41 and a vertical <br /> soil bore at the location of Tank 42( See the attached soil and water analysis for BH#1 and M W#1) <br /> Phase 2 of the Site Investigation was conducted to define the vertical and horizontal extent of the <br /> contamination plume It was completed on 5/28/98 with the installation of MW#2S, MW#2D, <br /> MW#3S, MW#3D, and MW44S, MW44D A double monitoring well was installed in each <br /> location The shallow wells (noted by the "S" letter) had a total depth of +/-55' and the deep <br /> monitoring wells had a total depth of+/-75' The original set of water samples was made on 6/11/98 <br /> (see water sample analysis, attached) The latest water samples were taken 03/09/01 and are the <br /> subject of this report <br /> WATER TABLE ELEVATIONS AND GRADIENT <br /> Soundings on the monitoring wells showed the groundwater elevation has raised+/- 0 5 feet from <br /> 1 ' <br />
