s./ V
ARCO sites
Page 2
1612 Hammer Lane, Stockton ARCO Facility # 548
PHS/EHD contact - Mary Meays
ARCO owns this property and will continue to operate the
underground storage tanks (UST' s) until the City of Stockton
decides to widen the street or until the single wall tanks
have to be removed in December 1998 . Prior to removing the
UST' s, monitoring well MW#3 will be destroyed. After the
UST' s have been removed, vapor extraction wells will be
installed in the former tank area.
Levels of contamination in the ground water samples from the
monitoring wells are about the same as before the water level
was above the top of the screened interval of the monitoring.
well . Levels of contamination in the ground water samples
collected from the vapor extraction wells are high. The vapor
extraction wells were constructed with pea gravel . It was
discussed that the results of the water samples from the vapor
extraction wells are not reflective of ground water since the
wells have not been developed or sufficiently purged. ARCO
does not want to silt in these wells, so it was agreed to
discontinue sampling of the vapor extraction wells .
225 Cherokee Lane, Lodi ARCO Facility #760
PHS/EHD contact - Linda Turkatte
After PHS/EHD has received the closure report for this site,
the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) will be given
30 days to comment on its closure .
3212 California Street, Stockton ARCO Facility #2186
PHS/EHD contact - Steve Saaaon
The plume of ground water contamination at this site appears
to be limited. The vapor well was sampled twice . Quarterly
monitoring will continue.
1711 Yosemite, Manteca ARCO Facility #6020
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
The RWQCB has been given 30 days to comment on closure of this
site .
7906 El Dorado Street, Stockton ARCO Facility #2130
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
Ground water is currently over the top of the screened
interval of the monitoring wells . The vapor extraction system
will continue operation until the end of the year and then the
site will be monitored. The necessity of confirmation borings
will be determined later.
1617 Fremont Street, Stockton ARCO Facility #5450
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
Another ground water sample will be collected from the
monitoring well and the site will be evaluated for closure .
