Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta) on behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) <br /> has prepared this letter to request authorization to conduct a soil vapor extraction (SVE) test at <br /> ARCO facility 2186, located at 3212 North California Street, Stockton, California (see Figure 1) <br /> A completed and signed permit application is included as an attachment The SVE test has been <br /> scheduled to begin on September 18, 2000 <br /> The SVE test proposes to extract petroleum Hydrocarbon laden soil vapors from onsite wells and <br /> abate them using a 200 cubic feet per minute (cfrn) thermal oxidizer SVE tests will be <br /> conducted on three onsite vapor extraction wells (VW-1 VW-2 and VW-3), and each test is <br /> expected to last approximately 4 hours (see Figure 2) The objective of the test is to evaluate the <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations of the extracted soil vapors and estimate the radius of <br /> influence for each well <br /> The oxidizer is rated to achieve 98 percent destruction efficiency for petroleum hydrocarbons in <br /> the soil vapors Delta proposes to collect influent and effluent air samples during each test to <br /> verify the performance of the system The air samples will be forwarded to a State Certified <br /> Laboratory for analysis of TPHG by EPA Method 8015, and benzene, total xylenes, <br /> ethylbenzene, toluene (BTEX) and MTBE by EPA Method 8020 modified <br /> i <br /> Providing a Competitive Edge <br />
