J
25 May 2004
AGE-NC Project No. 04-1180
3.2. SOIL AND GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
AGE proposes to advance three soil borings at the site. Each boring shall be advanced to a maximum
depth of 40 feet below surface grade (bsg) or first water; ground water is anticipated to occur
between 30 and 40 feet bsg.Soil samples may be collected at five-foot intervals;a grab ground water
sample will be collected from each boring;the proposed probe boring locations maybe modified due
to field observations:
The proposed probe boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2. Field procedures for advancement
of probe borings and collection of soil and ground water sam, ples.are presented in Sections 4.1,
4.2.and 4.3.
Selected soil and ground water samples from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory
analysis. The selected samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health
Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for one or more the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g)`_in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
• Volatile organic compounds,including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX),
and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8260M.
Laboratory reports for .soil and ground' water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be
presented in a report with.findings and recommendations.
3.3. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions;applicable recommendations, and
maps will be included in the report. .
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist. Procedures for the advancement of borings, soil sampling, ground water
sampling, equipment decontamination and sample shipment are outlined below.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
