-40f
Quarterly Summary Report
First Quarter 2000
Tosco (Circle K)Store #1205
16470 Cambridge Street
Lathrop, California
CITY Lathrop
COUNTY San Joaquin
BACKGROUND
The site is an active Circle K Store located at 16420 Cambridge Street in Lathrop, California.
On November 10, 1997, three underground storage tanks(USTs), product dispensers, and
associated product lines were removed from the site. Approximately 1,241 tons of
hydrocarbon-impacted soil were removed from beneath the former USTs and in the area of the
new UST pit and transported to Forward Landfill in Stockton for disposal. In addition,
approximately 17,000 gallons of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater was removed from the
new UST excavation and transported to a permitted facility for treatment. Soil samples
collected from beneath the former UST complex reported elevated concentrations of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), benzene, and MtBE. On August 21, 1998 two
groundwater monitoring wells(MW-1 and MW-2) and one continuous soil boring were
completed in an effort to delineate the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and
groundwater. On September 14, 1998 two additional monitoring wells (MW-3 and MW-4)
were installed. Based on groundwater gradient and analytical results, additional assessment is
warranted. IT will submit an assessment workplan on behalf of Tosco.
RECENT QUARTER ACTIVITIES
• Submitted Quarterly Summary Report.
• Conducted Quarterly sampling event.
ANTICIPATED NEXT QUARTER ACTIVITIES
• Submit Quarterly Summary Report.
• Conduct Quarterly sampling event.
• As per verbal request of Mike Infurna of SJPHS, submit assessment workplan and conduct
additional groundwater assessment upon receiving approval to proceed.
—911 2A7rqs'FW 2 04/1?/00
