In 1995, five underground tanks were removed from the subject site. During removal of
the tanks, gasoline was observed in soil and shallow groundwater beneath the site. Following a period
of active groundwater remediation and monitoring, the concentrations of gasoline have decreased
significantly. Because the minimal remaining concentrations will reach water quality objectives that are
protective of groundwater quality, human health and safety at the subject and adjacent properties in a
reasonable time, and since the release has been shown to not threaten a public supply well, no further
action related to the former tank release is being considered at this time. However, the case will remain
open to allow time for affected or interested property owners to comment on the proposed case closure.
Therefore, if you have any comments regarding the closure of this case, please submit them to me by
15 June 2007 at the following address:
Regional Water Quality Control Board—Central Valley Region
10020 Sun Center Drive, #200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
Once your comments are received, we will review them to determine the proper forum to address your
concerns. If your comments are not received by the specified date, we will complete our case closure
process and issue a No Further Action Required letter to the parties responsible for the site.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this case, please contact me at (916) 464-4615 or e-
mail at jbarton@waterboards.ca.gov.
JAMES L.L.
