6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi • - 2 - • 5 October 2000
As presented in the FRP, AGE proposes to remediate on-site contamination in the first water bearing
zone at this time. Based on the results of the aquifer tests,AGE believes that groundwater extraction
from the second or deeper water bearing zones may cause shallow contamination to move into deeper
zones, and AGE proposes to address deeper contamination once the first water bearing zone has been
remediated. This approach is approved;however, we will require an update to the FRP to address off-
site and deeper contamination at a later date.
The FRP is approved with the following comments:
1. Groundwater contamination remains undefined northeast of the fuel dispensers, southeast of
MW-6, and southwest of Rocky's Restaurant domestic well and MW-12. Complete site
assessment work is required.
2. RDW-1 must be properly destroyed to prevent further contamination of deeper groundwater
zones, and you must continue efforts to provide an alternate water source for Rocky's Restaurant
so RDW-1 can be destroyed.
Please notify Mr. Mike Infuma at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division and me at
least two business days prior to any site work or sampling. If you have any questions or comments,
please call me at (916) 255-3115.
Marty Hartzell
Associate Engineering Geologist
cc: Ms. Wennilyn Fria, State Water Resources Control Board, UST Cleanup Fund, Sacramento
Mr. Mike Infuma, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, Stockton
Mr. Timothy J.
