Only one (1) groundwater
sampling event has taken place, on May 9, 1991. Although San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHSlEHD) does not normally comment on environmental assessments, the
results of the May 1991 investigation cannot be considered an accurate assessment of the subsurface conditions
of the site since no data is available to the soil or groundwater downgradient of the existing underground tanks
and piping.
Please submit to PHS/EHD the analytical data and the sample locations of the soil samples taken at the June
1990 tank venting system update-
After a review of this data, PHS/EHD will determine if this site will require further investigation.
PHS/EHD is concerned that a municipal well exists within 100 feet of the tank pit area in the downgradient
position. This well, owned by the San Joaquin County Fire Department, should be sampled to investigate
whether or not contamination has impacted this downgradient well.
In addition the on-site monitoring wells should be measured and sampled to confirm gradient and the previous
sample results.
Please direct your submittals and inquiries to Michael Infurna of my staff at (209) 468-3454.
Jogi Khanna, M.D_;KP.H.
Health Offiicer/
Laurie A.
