Geologicaf echnics Inc.
2601 River Road
Modesto,California 95351
(209)538-64241Yjax#538.5852
November 16, 1993
Mr. Cecil Dillon
Dillon and Murphy
P.O. Box 2180
Lodi, CA 95241
Re: Recommendations Regarding Environmental Condition -
Saddle City Chevron, 6421 Paddock Place
Lodi, California
Project No. 166.2
Dear Mr. Dillon:
Geological Technics Inc. in conjunction with Del-Tech Geotechnical Support
Services is pleased to submit the following recommendations regarding the very
low levels of petroleum hydrocarbons that have been detected in the groundwater at
the Saddle City Chevron located at 6421 Paddock Place, Lodi, California.
These recommendations take the form of two possible approaches that may be taken
to bring closure to this site and allow you to proceed with bringing this property into
productive service.
Alternative 1: Risk Assessment
The purpose of performing a risk assessment would be to evaluate the potential for
exposure of the public to the stated chemicals and the potential health effects if
exposure should occur. The following four parameters will be evaluated:
1) Data Collection and Evaluation -
• Gather and analyze relevant site data
• Identify potential chemicals of concern
2) Toxicity Assessment -
• Collect qualitative and quantitative toxicity information
• Determine appropriate toxicity values
