1
30 July 2004
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
3 3 LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and
transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis _ F
for
TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Methods 5030B/8015Cm and 3510C/80I5C, respectively, and
o MTBE by EPA Method 8021B
3 4 WELL ELEVATION SURVEY
On 10 June 2004, a state of California state-licensed survey engineer from Baumbach&Piazza,Inc
(BPI) surveyed/resurveyed reference points on the top of the well casings from wells MW-1 through
MW-19 to the nearest 0 01-foot relative to known National Geodic Survey Datum No C464
(NAVD88) Additionally, BPI utilized global positioning system (GPS) techniques to identify
latitude and longitude for tracking wells MW-1 through MW-19 on the State Water Resources
Control Board (SWRCB) GeoTracker database system The results of the monitoring well survey
are contained in Table 1 The surveying report (BPI Job No 97-0249) is presented in Appendix I
3 5 FINDINGS
Groundwater elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on
14 June 2004,the contaminant impact to ground water was quantified by laboratory analysis of water 4
samples collected on 14 and 15 June 2004
3 5 1 Ground Water Elevation and Gradient
The depths to ground water were measured at between 12 29 feet(MW-18)and 16 62 feet(MW-9C)
below the tops of the well casings on 14 June 2004, ground water elevations were calculated to be
between 1 58 feet (MW-13B) and 2 85 feet (MW-10E) below mean sea level (MSL)
Ground water elevation data collected from Flag City Chevron wells MW-9(A-C), MW-11 (A-D),
MW-13 (A-D), MW-16, MW-17, MW-18 and Three B's Truck Plaza wells MW-6, MW-9 (A-E)
and MW-10 (A-F)on 14 June 2004 was depicted on cross section GC'(Figure 3), by determining
the difference between ground water elevations (dh) and dividing by the difference of the screen
interval midpoints (dl), the vertical gradient between adjacent screen intervals was calculated
Generally, nearly flat, very slight upward and downward vertical gradients were observed between
Advanced Geo Environmental,ine
