24 INFLUENT MONITORING RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements of RWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
ground water pump-and-treat influent samples were analyzed for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE,
methanol, ethanol, DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, 1,2-DCA, EDB and total lead (quarterly basis) on
06 November, 19 November and 09 December 2003
Influent water samples collected on 06 November, on 19 November and on 09 December 2003
detected MTBE(by EPA Method 8260) at concentrations of 31 micrograms per liter(µg/1), 27 µg/1
and 20 µg/1, respectively (Table 1) The laboratory analysis did not detect any other petroleum
constituents of concern Analytical results ofpump-and-treat influent-water samples are summarized
in Table 1, laboratory reports are in Appendix B
25 EFFLUENT MONITORING RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements of RWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
• monthly ground water pump-and-treat effluent monitoring was performed for flow rate, specific
conductivity(EC), pH, temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE,
methanol, ethanol,DIPE, TAME,ETBE, TBA, 1,2-DCA, EDB and nitrate on 06 November, on 19
November and on 09 December 2003,in addition,a bioassay was performed on the quarterly effluent
sample collected on 09 December 2003
Laboratory analysis of pump-treat effluent grab water samples collected on 06 November, 19
November and 09 December did not detect any petroleum constituents of concern Analytical results
are summarized in Table 1, laboratory reports are in Appendix B
Nitrate as NO}was detected on 06 November, 19 November and 09 December at concentrations of
31 mg/l, 43 mg/1 and 40 mg/l, respectively, TDS values were reported on the same dates at
concentrations between 785 mg/l, 576 mg/1 and 559 mg/l, respectively Analytical results are
summarized in Table 2, laboratory reports are in Appendix C
A bioassay laboratory analysis was performed on the grab sample collected from the effluent stream
on 09 December 2003 Six 2,000-m1 dilution volumes consisting of 0%,6 25%,25%,50%, 75%and
100% effluent water to deiomzed water were tested with 20 Fathead minnow fish each, pH,
dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature parameters were monitored and fish mortalities were
counted over 96 hours Temperature measurements generally varied between 19 1 and 20 7 degrees
Celsius (°C), pH measurements generally vaned between 7 50 and 8 00 and DO measurements
generally varied between 7 50 mg/1 and 8 80 mg/1 The laboratory reported that there were a total of
zero fish mortalities after 96 hours in the above referenced sample, laboratory analysis of a duplicate
