October 21, 2015
Reference: Response to California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley
Regional Letter dated June 15, 2015 and Request for Additional Methane and Soil
Gas VOC Investigation
assist in providing evidence that biodegradation is occurring. During this investigation, at
depths where percent 02 may indicate a potential bioattenuation zone, at least one
sample will also be collected for analysis of VOCs.
The primary objective of the assessment is to identify what types of bio-attention (aerobic or
anaerobic) may be occurring in the upper b feet. The soil vapor analytical results will be used to
evaluate potential human health impacts to current/future residential receptors and/or the future
utility and construction worker. The general scope of work proposed by Stantec includes the
following:
❑ Prepare a site-specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP).
❑ Locate subsurface utilities.
❑ Install and sample up to 12 soil gas probes (Ex.SSGP-1 through SSGP-12).
❑ Laboratory analysis of shallow soil gas probes will be performed in real time using a mobile
lab on-Site.
❑ Submittal of a results report, including recommendations for a path forward, following
completion of this investigation.
5
