In addition, groundwater samples were analyzed for fecal Coliform.
TPHD and TPHG analysis was performed using the DHS/LUFT approved method
(Modified EPA Method 8015). BTEX was quantified using EPA Method 8020
(soil) and EPA Method 607. (groundwater). Fecal coliform was analyzed in
accordance with Standard Methods. All analyses were performed at a DHS
certified hazardous waste laboratory.
Tables 2 and 3 summarize the analytical results for soil and groundwater
samples, respectively. Complete certified analytical reports are presented in
Appendix B.
Soil Sample Analytical Results
A total of five soil samples were collected and submitted for laboratory analysis.
Soil samples collected from each borehole were screened using a photoionization
detector (PID), which measures total ionizable vapors (TiV). The sample from
each borehole having the highest TIV measurement was submitted for chemical
_ analysis.
. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
TPHD was detected in 3 of the 5 samples submitted for analysis (Table 2).
Dectectable TPHD concentrations ranged from 500 mg/kg to 6,800 mg/kg. Sample
MNV-2,collected from a depth of 25.0 to 26.5 feet below ground surface, contained
TPHD at a concentration of 520 mg/kg. TPHD was detected in sample MW-3(25.0
to 26.5 feet) at a concentration of 500 mg/kg. A TPHD concentration of 6,800
mg/kg was detected in sample B-1 (25.0 to 26.5 feet). No TPHD was detected in
samples MW-1 (25.0 to 26.5 feet) and B-2 (15.0 to I6.5 feet). TPHG was not
detected in any of the samples submitted for analysis.
ra
Aromatic Hydrocarbons
All soil samples collected were analyzed for BTEX. None of the samples
contained detectable quantities of benzene or toluene. Ethylbenzene was detected
in samples MW-2 (7.2 ug/kg), MW-3 (24 ug/kg) and B-1 (600 ug/kg). Only one
sample(MW-3) contained detectable quantities of xylenes(10 ug/kg).
Groundwater Sample Analytical Results
Groundwater samples were collected from each of the boreholes that were
converted to permanent monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3). A sample from
each well was submitted for analysis.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
All groundwater samples collected were submitted for analysis by TPHD and
TPHG. Neither TPHD nor TPHG were detected in any of the samples submitted
(Table 3).
5 L.ML/SV132.21/0083 REV p
