Groundwater Technology, on behalf of Chevron
U.S.A. Products, proposes to install a monitoring well in the planter box parelleling Washington 1
Avenue. Two bushes will need to be removed and a few trees will need to be pruned in order .
to facilitate drilling. In addition, the southernmost lane of Washington Avenue east of the
intersection of South Center, will be closed during drilling operations. Drilling operations will be
conducted under the direct supervision of a Groundwater Technology geologist. A truck I
mounted drill rig will be used to install the well to a depth of approximately 60 feet below
grade. The well will be constructed of 2-inch diameter PVC casing and well screen. At grade,
a locking watertight welllhead box will be set. Future periodic access to the well will be
required in order to monitor the well.
As stated in our previous correspondence, San Joaquin County Public Health Services
(SJCPHS) requested that a groundwater monitoring well be installed downgradient from the ^(
Chevron Service station. Due to the fact that the city of Stockton is leasing this property from j
the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), a fee will be paid to Caltrans for j
"processing". Please forward a copy of your approval to the attention of Clint Rogers at
Chevron U.S.A. Products Company, 2410 Camino Ramon, San Ramon, California 94583.
j
I
i
