Landon <br /> Executive Vice President <br /> The Marley Cooling Tower Company (MCTC) <br /> 5800 Foxridge Road <br /> Mission, Kansas 66202 <br /> CLOSURE PLAN APPROVAL FOR THE STOCKTON FACILITY SURFACE <br /> IMPOUNDMENT, EPA I .D. #CAD009140120 <br /> Dear Mr. Landon: <br /> The California Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Region <br /> IX office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have <br /> reviewed the Closure and Post-Closure Plans, originally dated <br /> September 1985, with subsequent revisions in January and <br /> September 1986 and March 1988 , as indicated in Attachment A, <br /> "Closure Plan Documents" , for the closure of the MCTC surface <br /> impoundment at the Stockton facility in San Joaquin County. <br /> Pursuant to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, <br /> Section 67212 and the regulations adopted pursuant to the <br /> Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, 42 USC Section 6901, <br /> et. seq. , your Closure and Post-Closure Plans are determined to be <br /> acceptable with the modifications made by DHS and EPA and are <br /> hereby approved. The "Closure Plan Modifications" are included <br /> as Attachment B. You are required to comply with the specific <br /> steps of this approved Closure Plan. Please note that upon <br /> completion of closure, you and a registered professional engineer <br /> must certify that closure was conducted in accordance with the <br /> approved plan. Copies of the certification must be submitted to <br /> DHS and EPA. <br />
