DHS Comment:
Page 4-9 First paragraph:
Sand pack shall be limited to a maximum height of 5 feet
above screened interval.
MCTC Response:
MCTC will comply.
DHS Comment:
Page 4-9 Second paragraph, second sentence:
All new and existing monitoring wells shall be sampled
following completion of well development .
MCTC Response:
New wells will be sampled following completion of well
development. Existing well sampling will be completed based
on the established well sampling schedule.
DHS Comment:
Page 4-10 Second paragraph, first sentence:
Delete "and as appropriate for" and add, "arsenic, copper,
and general minerals. " Delete fourth sentence too.
Note-
All water and soil analyses performed pursuant to the
subject workplan must be performed in accordance with the
most recent edition of the referenced standard or analytical
method.
MCTC Response:
This first sentence will be modified to read as follows:
"Samples from new wells will be analyzed initially for total
chromium, hexavalent chromium, arsenic, copper and general
minerals. "
After initial characterization of a new well, analyzing periodic
eater samples for total chromium only should adequately describe
changes that may occur in the plume since chromium is the only
wood treating chemical found in the groundwater by past sampling
effcrts, and hexavalent chromium is the prevalent form of
chromium in groundwater.
11654 7
