This work plan has been
prepared in response to your letter, dated April 9, 2001 (Attachment A), requesting a
CAP to evaluate potential options for remediating petroleum hydrocarbon impacts to
groundwater beneath the site. During your telephone conversation with Mr. William
Brasher of SECOR on May 1, 2001, it was agreed that the appropriate first step for
preparing a CAP would be the performance of feasibility testing. Therefore, this work
plan fulfills the requirement of your April 9,2001 letter.
This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background and previous
investigations, proposed scope of work, and schedule.
SITE BACKGROUND
The site is an operating Chevron Service Station located on the northwest corner of
Washington Street and South Center Street in Stockton, California, and is within an area
of primarily commercial use (Figure 2). Topography in the area of the site is relatively
flat, and is approximately 12 feet above mean sea level (ms]). The nearest surface water
bodies are the Mormon Slough located approximately 1/4-mile south of the site, the
Yacht Harbor located approximately 1/4-mile north of the site, and the Port of Stockton
located approximately one mile west of the site.
