• 0 The Contractor shall furnish one new National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) tested and approved PVC bailer and 125 feet of new vinyl rope. The bailer shall be a TIMCO Manufacturing Company, Inc. standard bailer, or an acceptable substitute that is approved by the Engineer. The bailer shall be 3 feet long with an outside diameter of 1.5 inches. The Contractor shall secure the bailer and bailer rope to the PVC cap of MT- 5 and suspend the bailer approximately 10 feet above the water table in the casing of MT-5. 2A-7.01. In.iection Wells. The vertical injection wells shall be installed at a minimum of 10 feet above the water table as directed by the Engineer. Injection wells IW-6, 7 and 8 shall be installed at an angle of 450 from horizontal , to a vertical depth of 50 feet (see Drawing G-5). The depth of the vertical injection wells will be established by the Engineer using water levels from nearby monitoring wells. Blank riser for the vertical injection wells shall be 4 inch diameter, schedule 80 NSF tested and approved PVC pipe. Screen for the vertical wells shall be 4 inch diameter continuous slot (wire wrapped) screen with 0.125 inch slots. Blank riser for the angled injection wells shall be 2-1/2 inch (nominal) diameter, schedule 80 NSF tested and approved PVC pipe. Screen for the angled wells shall be 2-1/2 inch (nominal ) diameter continuous slot (wire wrapped) screen with 0.125 inch slots. The screen shall extend from a depth of 20 feet below ground surface to the bottom of the well . The screen shall be provided in 5 and 10 foot lengths. A schedule 80 NSF tested and approved pipe tee shall be installed approximately 2 feet below ground surface (see Drawings G-3 and G-5). The riser shall extend above the pipe tee to the ground surface using blank PVC riser pipe as specified herein. Threaded PVC caps shall be provided for the top and bottom of the injection well . The flush joints of the PVC riser and screen shall have 0-rings to provide a water tight seal. Washed pea gravel shall be used as backfill around the screen section, and shall extend a maximum of 2 feet above the top of the screen section as shown on Drawings G-3 and G-5. The pea gravel shall be gap graded with a size of 0.25 inch and shall consist of quartz, quartzite, chert or similar inert material that is approved by the Engineer. The pea gravel shall be placed in a slow steady stream around the screen section. A minimum of 1-foot of silica sand (Monterey No. 3) shall be placed above the pea gravel in the angled boreholes. 2A-7.02. Extraction Well. Extraction well EW-2 shall be installed to a maximum depth of 125 feet below ground surface. Blank riser for the extraction well shall be 6 inch diameter, schedule 80 NSF tested and approved PVC pipe. The screen shall be 6 inch (MARLEY SSFS ) PA-8 (CONTRACT NO. 13) (11654.652 )
