Carroll Street ENVIP.ONVicPriALHEALTH
Stockton, CA 95215 pr.RMIT/SERVICES
Dear Ms. Alo:
TRANSMITTAL OF SAMPLING DATA
Please find enclosed a copy of the August 16, 1991 submittal
made on behalf of the Marley Cooling Tower Company. The
submittal and its accompanying August 12 , 1991, Letter Report
presents data relevant to the soil sampling performed on Carroll
Street.
As we have discussed on the telephone, the laboratory
results do not indicate the soil is contaminated with arsenic or
chromium compounds used by the Marley Cooling Tower Company's
Stockton facility. Additionally, from information received from
the State of California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard
Assessment, and San Joaquin County' s office of Public Health
Services, the reported illnesses of area children do not indicate
a correlation to arsenic or chromium contamination.
Consequently, the Department of Toxic Substances Control does not
anticipate any further investigative action regarding this matter
will be needed.
If you have any question regarding the above, please do not
hesitate to call me at (916) 855-7857 .
Sincerely,
Gv!'n
James C.
