The operating procedures of the wood treating facility resulted in releases, that over the years contaminated
the ground water. Initially, these procedures were changed to eliminate the releases and in January of 1991 all wood treating at the facility
was stopped.
Since the discovery of the problem, Marley has been working
closely with the California Department of Health Services, San O
Joaquin County Department of Health and California Regional
Water Quality Control Board tr rlean up the affectsd cc!!s and 06
water as expeditiously as possible. 0F`P
ufd
Part of the clean up process will involve the collection of ground ,a
water from several points south of the Sinclair facility, transport
of the water through a pipeline back to the plant, and treatment
of the water by a water treatment facility located at the plant. t
Construction of the treatment plant on the Sinclair property is
rte°ss xrxn«nw v1x rxo\
almost complete.
