The proposed work is intended <br /> to assess the soil and groundwater beneath the site with respect <br /> to adsorbed or dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons. Specifically, <br /> this work plan deals with the installation of four on-site <br /> ' groundwater-monitoring wells and the use of an on-site soil- <br /> coria program to assess the <br /> g p g possible presence of adsorbed <br /> hydrocarbons near the southern end of the eastern pump island <br /> +� (Figure 2) . <br /> �. BACKGROUND <br /> In April, 1990, all the underground storage tanks at this <br /> site were removed and new underground fuel storage tanks were <br /> installed. As required by the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> t ` Services (SJCPHS) , numerous soil samples were collected from the <br /> excavation pits and along the piping trenches for the fuel lines. <br /> — Laboratory analyses results of these samples indicated adsorbed <br /> m., r <br /> ^a, GROUND 'ATF:R <br /> TECHN rI)JU,INC, <br />
