Between boreholes,
- all downhole equipment will be cleaned using a pressure washer.
Rinsate from this decontamination will be placed in 55-gallon
steel drums and stockpiled on site. The wastes generated during
this assessment will be disposed of in an appropriate, legal
manner after laboratory analyses have determined if the wastes
must be treated as a hazardous material.
Selected soil samples will be laboratory analyzed for the
T presence of benLene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (P'i:X)
and total petroleum hydrocarbons TPH-as-gasoline using modified
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ( ;PA) Methods 5030/8020/
8ol5. At least one soil sample from each borehole will be
analyzed. If field observations and/or PID readings indicate
possible adsorbed hydrocarbons in the soils encountered,
additional samples may be analyzed.
Soil samples from above and below the water table may be
collected for physical testing. Such testing could include
` grain-size analysis, permeability, and/or porosity. Data from
these tests could be used to assess the practicality or possible
remediation techniques.
t
Additional information on Groundwater Technology Standard
operating Procedures (SOPS) for this and all phases of field work
is included in Appendix A.
`—
14i GROCXDwATER
TECH\OLOCY,I\'C.
