• Vapor samples from the extraction well will be collected with Tedlar bags at
the beginning of the pilot test and at the end of the pilot test. Collected
samples will be submitted to a California-certified laboratory for total
petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene,
xylenes, and MtBE analyses.
• Vapor stream measurements in the extraction well, including hydrocarbon levels
with a flame-ionization detector(FID), and flowrate will be measured and
recorded.
The DPE equipment will be restarted and the vacuum and airflow will be allowed to
stabilize. Vacuum pressure and induced pressure at each observation well, and air/vapor
stream flowrate will be recorded. The vacuum pressure will be initiated at the minimum
required pressure (which is the pressure required to overcome the hydraulic head of the
water column in the extraction well). Vacuum pressures at 50% and 100% over the
hydraulic head of the water column in the tested well will be applied.
