The PEA Report was submitted to meet the requirements outlined in the <br /> Oversight and Consultative Agreement HSA A 99 09, effective August 22, 1999. <br /> I <br /> The purpose of the PEA is to determine whether past or current practices have resulted <br /> in the release or threatened release of hazardous substances which Rose a threat to <br /> public health or the environment. The property is currently vacant and was purchased <br /> by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Stock on for the purposes of developing <br /> into a water squarelpublic meeting area. This letter provides a final determination for <br /> the need for further remedial action or land use conditions. <br /> Former uses of the 1.9 acre Site includes: freight and transportation cmpanies for <br /> storage merchandise, Bridgestone Tire and Auto air and a Shelf gasoline service <br /> station. A significant portion for the Site is a nave d lot supported by trued wood <br /> pilings. All underground storage tanks (USTs) hav4D been removed under the oversight <br /> of the San Joaquin County Public health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> (SJCEHD). A soil vapor extraction'systern operat- <br /> Califomia <br /> from 1992 to 1996 and was <br /> augmented from 1993 to 1995 to include a grounter extraction system. The <br /> SJCEI-lD will be evaluating additional informationare making a detetmina#ion for <br /> final closure of the former 5heil station.
