The site has a total of 18 groundwater monitoring wells. Currently three of the wells are
sampled on an annual schedule, seven of the wells are sampled on a semi-annual schedule
and eight of the wells are sampled on a quarterly schedule.
The proposal you submitted was to sample all of the sites groundwater monitoring wells on
an annual schedule. The EHD does not agree with this proposal. The core of the
groundwater contaminant plume remaining at this site is around a former dispenser island
area; this area of the plume is monitored by wellsi MW-4, MW-8M and MW-8D. Interim
remediation by batch extraction of these three wells began in third quarter 2008 and was
being conducted on a quarterly schedule. The EHD considers that to move this site towards
regulatory closure in a timelier manner, this quarterly interim remediation should continue.
The EHD recommends the following sampling regimen:
Semi-Annual- MW-4, MW-5, MW-8M, MW-8D, MW-9M, MW-9D, MW-10M, MW-10D.
Annual- MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-6, MW-7, MW-11 M, MW-11 D, MW-12D, MW-13M,
and MW-13D.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely,
Za
0Lori Duncan, Senior REHS are Lagorio, REHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist Program Coordinator
c: James Barton, CVRWQCB, 11020 Sun Center Drive #200 Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
Brian Westhoff, Stantec, 3017 Kilgore Road #100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
