C
Sacramento, California 95831
Dear Mr. Little:
' We are writing to you concerning your request to modify the
timing windows for work associated with the Stockton
' Bulkhead/Seawall Project, authorized under Department of the Army
permit number 199700080.
' Based on your recent conversation with Dave Tedrick of our
office, you indicated that the initial phase of the project
involved placing sheetpiling into the waterway beginning in
March, 1998. The placement of sheetpiling would act as a buffer
during the construction of the bulkhead/seawall, and would remain
for approximately four to five months.
In a subsequent conversation with Matt Vandenberg of the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service, he determined that due to the low
levels of dissolved oxygen and lack of any submerged aquatic
vegetation in the turning basin, there would be no effect to
' endangered species. Therefore, he stated the timing windows for
construction could be lifted for work in this area.
' This letter acts as a modification to the existing Corps
permit, removing the special condition requiring timing windows
for this project. All other terms and conditions of the original
authorization remain in full force and effect.
' if you have any questions, please write to David Tedrick,
Room 1480 at the letterhead address, or telephone (916) 557-7724 .
Sincerely,
Jim Monroe, P.E. , Esq.
Chief, Delta Office
i
1
1
