I <br /> kq KLEINFELDER <br /> 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> 1 <br /> ' This is a report of Kleinfelder's Limited Phase II Assessment conducted within the Weber Point <br /> South Seawall at 221 North Center Street (portion of) in Stockton, California which is proposed for <br /> I ' redevelopment Mr Tony Lopes of Siegfried Engineering, Inc, retained Kleinfelder to conduct the <br /> assessment in accordance with our proposal (File No 20-1129-30) dated November 18, 1996 The <br /> assessment was performed as follow-up services in response to recommendations detailed in <br /> Kleinfelder's report titled "Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, Weber Point South Seawall, <br /> ' 221 North Center Street, Stockton, California" report dated July 14, 1997 (Kleinfelder File No 20- <br /> 1129-30 GO 1) and in anticipation of planned seawall improvements <br /> 1 Kleinfelder conducted this limited assessment of the site to evaluate the presence of selected <br /> contaminants which may be associated with an adjacent ARCO retail service station and <br /> ' documented regional sources of groundwater contamination which have the potential to impact the <br /> site Soil samples were collected at 5 foot intervals from 3 soil borings The borings were <br /> advanced to groundwater and Hydropunch IIT"' water samples were collected An additional <br /> surface water sample was also collected from the Stockton Deep Water channel for background <br /> references <br /> Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbons (340 pg/L ) in the carbon range C10 to C30 was detected <br /> above laboratory reporting limits in the groundwater sample collected from boring HP-3 In <br /> ' addition, Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbon (450 µg/L ) in the carbon range C13-C40 was <br /> detected above laboratory limits in the channel water sample <br /> Acid/Base Neutral 0i40anic constituents (Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (2100 dig/L ) sand Butyl <br /> benzyl phthalate (40 µg/L ) wei e detected in boring HP-I Butyl benzyl phthalate (29 µg/L ) was <br /> detected in boring HP-2 <br /> 1 Based on the data obtained during our assessment, the following conclusions and <br /> recommendations have been formulated <br /> ' 1 Kleinfelder does not recommend an further investigation or clean-up for the site <br /> Y g 1? <br /> However Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to the <br /> ' RWQCB and PHS/EHD for their review and comment <br /> ' 2 The drilling returns (soil) should be properly disposed of by the Client Kleinfelder can <br /> assist the Client in that disposal at an additional charge if requested by the client <br /> ' 3 If discoloied soil odors, os other evidence of contamination are encountered during site <br /> grading, development etc oui office should be notified immediately <br /> 20-1129-30/2117EZ 114 Page I of 13 <br /> 0 1997 KIL01fdki IM July 14 1997 <br />
