wells MW-23R and MW-26R located downgradient of Area I were 110 pg/L and 100
pg/L, respectively.
C Zone
Acenaphthene concentrations in the groundwater samples collected from the C-zone
monitoring wells in September 2004 did not exceed 20 pg/L.
3.2 Assessment of Acenaphthene Concentrations in Groundwater
Downgradient of the Site
Based on the current monitoring data, the extent of acenaphthene concentrations
exceeding 20 pg/L in groundwater downgradient of B-zone well MW-26R is not defined.
Groundwater samples are proposed to be collected for laboratory analysis from an off-
site location to assess the acenaphthene concentrations in the B zone downgradient of
MW-26R. The proposed well installation and groundwater sampling are described in the
following sections.
Pre-Field Logistics
A revocable permit and an encroachment permit will be obtained from the City of
Stockton. The City permits, this work plan, and DTSC approval of this work plan will be
submitted as an application to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Services
(County) for a permit to install monitoring well MW-27. After the County issues a permit
and before field installation activities, Underground Service Alert will be notified for utility
clearance. ENV America personnel will follow the health and safety procedures
described in the Site Health and Safety Plan (included as Exhibit A) during field
activities at the Site.
Well Installation
Well MW-27 is proposed to be completed in the B zone near the intersection of South
Hunter Street and East Hazelton Avenue, approximately 270 feet downgradient of well
MW-26R (Figure 3). The actual location of MW-27 may be modified based on existing
underground and/or aboveground utilities in the area.
The well will be installed using similar drilling method and well construction as the other
existing B-zone wells. The screened intervals for wells MW-23R and MW-26R are
completed between about 98 or 99 feet bgs and 113 or 114 feet bgs. The soil boring for
well MW-27 is anticipated to be advanced to about 114 feet bgs using a drill rig
equipped with hollow-stem augers. Continuous soil core samples will be collected from
9 ENV.";`;
A M E R I C A
P\PGSE\PGE-05-01 Stockton MW26R Inv sUgation\MW26 Work Plan\PGE Stockton MW26R WP.doc
