Siebal
California Environmental Protection Agency
r Department of Toxic Substances Control
10151 Croydon Way
Sacramento, CA 95827
Attention: Mr. Fernando Amador
Dear Mr. Siebal :
Re: Docket #HSA 90/91-08 - Stockton Manufactured Gas Plant Site
Subject: Remedial Investigation Report Submittal
PG&E respectfully requests a 30 day extension of the July 13 deadline
for submission of the Draft Remedial Investigation (RI) Report to
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) .
The requested extension will be used to finalize the draft document. We
have fallen behind the proposed schedule primarily due to the
requirement that additional work (Phase 2) be conducted to complete the
soil and groundwater characterization. The results of the Phase 2
investigation in Area II will be included as part of the RI Report. A
workplan for the Phase 2 investigation in Area I has been submitted to
DTSC, but the results will not be available for inclusion in the RI
Report. The schedule for the Risk Assessment (and subsequent documents)
will be similarly impacted by the Phase 2 work. PG&E will submit a
revised schedule after the scope and timing of the Phase 2 activities
are approved by DTSC.
We appreciate your consideration of this request. If you have any
questions, please call me at (415) 973-1116.
Sincerely,
Yvonne J. Meeks, R.G. , C.E.G.
Manufactured Gas Plant Project
