This report incorporates comments sent by Fran Anderson of your staff to
Robert Doss in a letter dated June 20, 1997. Appendices A through F of the
Feasibility Study, contained in Volumes II through V, were previously sent to Fran
Anderson on June 13, 1997. Also enclosed are four pages for the Appendices: one
replacement page for Appendix D and three new tables for Appendix E.
The recommended remedial alternative in the Feasibility Study is excavation of on-site
soils and residues to meet non-detect goals in groundwater beneath the site and
intrinsic bioremediation of groundwater in Zones A, B, and C. This alternative
includes backfilling with source area soils or disposal of such soils at a Class H landfill,
depending on concentrations of constituents of concern; treating source area residues
with asphalt batching or disposal of such residues at a Class II landfill; and disposal of
non-source area soils at a Class II landfill. Groundwater will be monitored for intrinsic
bioremediation parameters.
Please call me at (415) 973-6254 if you have any questions or comments on the
Feasibility Study for Stockton.
Sincerely,
Patricia Sullivan
Stockton Manufactured Gas Plant Site Project Manager
