As a result of this on-going
remediation, 17 of the 27 groundwater monitoring wells which were to be sampled in
the third quarter, 1999, are unavailable for sampling. This letter confirms an
August 17, 1999, discussion with Fernando Amador of your staff in which PG&E
requested, and was granted, permission to waive the third quarter monitoring, 1999,
event for the site. PG&E will resume sampling during the fourth quarter, 1999, when
soil remediation is expected to be complete. During the fourth quarter event,PG&E
proposes to conduct the annual sampling, which is normally done in the third quarter.
The normal quarterly monitoring schedule will resume after the fourth quarter, 1999,
event.
Please call me at 415.973.6254 if you have any questions or require additional
information.
Sincerely,
Patricia E.
