The Revised Work Plan was prepared in response to
comments provided by Regional Water Board staff and Department of Toxic Substance
Control staff in a 30 September 2011 letter and 18 October 2011 conference call.
PG&E adequately addresses all Regional Water Board concerns in the Response to
Comments provided with the Revised Work Plan. However, the Revised Work Plan contains
several discrepancies that should be clarified:
1. The Response to Comments and Table 2 correctly identifies proposed monitoring well
MW-33 as a Zone A well. However, Figure 3 shows MW-33 as a B Zone well. Figure 3
should be corrected to avoid confusion.
2. Page 10, Section 3.6 Monitoring Well Construction, states that there will be two wells
installed in Zone A and four wells installed in Zone B. Because MW-33 was changed
from a Zone B well to a Zone A well, Section 3.6 should be changed to reflect that three
wells, MW-28, MW-29 and MW-33 will be constructed in Zone A and MW-30, MW-31
and MW-32 will be constructed in Zone B.
Regional Water Board staff concur with the Revised Work Plan on the condition that the above
changes are addressed. If there are any questions or comments regarding this letter, I can be
contacted at 916-464-4677 or by email at gdjuth@waterboards.ca.gov.
(Original Signed By)
Gerald Djuth, P.E., C.E.G
Private Site Cleanup Unit
cc: Patricia Sullivan, PG&E, San Ramon
Jennifer Wagler, Arcadis, U.S., Inc., Walnut Creek
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
