LEVINEā¢FRICKE
method 7060) , and copper (EPA method 6010) . The anticipated
detection limits for arsenic and copper are 0.50 and
1. 25 parts per million (ppm) respectively. Detection limits
for VOCs analyzed under EPA method 8010 will range from 0.0005
to 0. 001 ppm depending on the parameter. These anticipated
detection limits may vary due to soil matrix interferences.
DTSC Comment 2: Levine-Fricke anticipates submitting a total
of 30 to 35 soil samples for chemical analysis. Therefore,
three duplicate soil samples will be submitted for each
analytical method to monitor the laboratory quality assurance
and quality control procedures (QA\QC) . In addition,
laboratory reports will include results of the internal
laboratory QA\QC procedures (i.e. matrix spikes and method
blanks) .
DTSC Comment 3 : To meet the recommended holding times for
soil samples analyzed for VOCs, the soil samples collected and
held pending analysis of shallower samples will be analyzed on
a rush turnaround basis, if necessary. Metals analyses can be
done on normal turnaround since holding times exceed 14 days.
DTSC Comment 4: Analytical methods for soil samples collected
from fine-grained intervals identified by continuous cores
will be analyzed for VOCs (EPA method 8010) , arsenic (EPA
method 7060) , and copper (EPA method 6010) , depending on the
location of the soil boring.
Soil Sample Analysis Rationale:
DTSC Comment 1: As indicated on Figure 2 of the Work Plan,
soil samples collected in the vicinity of the former ultra
etch storage area will be analyzed for VOCs (using EPA method
8010) , arsenic, and copper.
Well Drilling, Installation, Construction, Development,
and Sampling
A ground-water monitoring well will not be installed as part
of this investigation.
2617\2617CMTS:uIk 3
