Nuel Henderson [EH]
From: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2014 3:41 PM
To: 'Jatin.Khandwala@waterboards.ca.gov'
Cc: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH]
Subject: RE: Claim 12186- Fernando's Place (1201 Center St. S., Stockton)
Attachments: Fernandos Place Pilot Test Ozone TABLES 2-5.pdf
Jatin,
I too have concern with the ozone ISCO approach on this site. The pilot test has been interrupted by long delays
with limited run time and there is little data available at this time to confidently evaluate the method effectiveness.
The January 2014 sampling event was conducted after only 10 days of run time, the limited June sampling event
was conducted after only 30 days of run time following a 3-month operational hiatus. A complete sampling event
is planned for next week.
The consultant provided data tables to me that include the limited June 2014 sampling event, conducted as part
of the monitoring and reporting program for the WDR. The consultant interprets the data for well MW-5A as
demonstrating a beneficial effect on contaminant concentrations, but I note that there are several long-term
waxing and waning trends in the data and cannot discard the possibility that the recent MW-5A data is part of a
natural waning trend. I have attached the table sent me by the consultant.
The consultant points out that the work so far is part of a 6-month pilot study and he feels the problems have been
worked out to limit interruptions to the operation. In view of the investment made to date, I recommend that you
approve the monies to operate and report on the pilot test for the 6-month period and then determine future action
based on the results.
Call or email me with any questions.
Nuel Henderson, PG
(209)468-3436
From: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH]
Sent: Tuesday,July 29, 2014 2:19 PM
To: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: FW: Claim 12186 - Fernando's Place (1201 Center St. S., Stockton)
Not sure if you responded to this email?
Angelica Sandoval Marin,Senior REHS
San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department
1868 E. I am working with the USTCF in Sacramento. Currently I am in the process of
reviewing a budget change request(BCR)for the above ref claim/site.
8/1/2014
