Or not?
From: Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Thursday, November 17, 20114:10 PM
To: 'bmillman@advgeoenv.com'
CC: 'rmarty@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: Fernandos
Brian,
I wanted to get our `understanding' in b&w so there are no misunderstandings.
CUF has a 5year review draft letter on our desks here for eval. They want "the
San Joaquin County LOP to direct the RP to assess remedial technologies and
implement active remediation without delay". This means they are NOT happy
with the progress at the site. They are LOOKING for an excuse NOT to get you
the money they HAD to allot to you for 2012. DON'T give them a reason.
EVEN though they stated in this latest letter that SVE was 'conducted from Nov
2009 to present', they want you to "implement active remediation"...again, they
are NOT happy with what they are seeing/reading in your reports.
Anyway Brian, your last SAM (4th-2011 , dated Nov 7, 2011 ) recommended:
1-continue SAMR
2- d/c SVE until DTW recede.
3- eval alternate remed technologies (IAS)...
I can ok these with a condition.
I think we made a deal that we both can `win' at. I'll allow the SVE to go offline
for, what 60 days? 90 days? You name the duration and include the `back on'
date in your request. I'll also suspend gw sampling/lab of the MWs for a few
12!21/2011
