2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br />' PSC subcontractor Klelnfelder, Inc performed the groundwater-monitoring on <br /> August 30, 2004 The findings are presented in the following sections Tables for <br />' groundwater elevations and analytical results are Included as attached Tables <br /> Contour maps for groundwater elevations, BTEX concentrations, and TPH-G <br /> concentrations are included as attached Figures Field,data forms are Included in <br />' Appendix A Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B <br /> 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures <br /> Groundwater elevations were obtained from four monitoring wells (MW) <br /> MW-1 through MW-4 Groundwater levels and the potential presence of free <br /> phase gasoline product were measured in each well prior to sampling utilizing <br /> an electronic oil/water interface probe In addition, prior to purging the wells, <br /> the first bailer of purge water was visually observed for free product <br /> Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the <br />' following locations MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 <br /> Prior to sample collection, the wells were purged a minimum of three well- <br /> casing volumes with a dedicated bailer in order to collect a representative <br /> sample The purged water was monitored for stability utilizing the field <br /> parameters of pH, conductivity, temperature, and the visual observation of <br />' water clarity The purged water was stored in 55-gallon drums and the drums <br /> were transported to PSC's licensed California waste disposal facility <br />' Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were <br /> retrieved and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were <br /> properly labeled, and stored in an iced chest under chain-of-custody The <br /> I samples were then submitted to the analytical laboratory for analysis <br /> Groundwater samples were analyzed for BTEX, TPH-G, and the oxygenate <br /> analytes (TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME) <br /> 2.2 Groundwater Elevation Measurements <br />' Free product was not observed among the wells, based on the measurements <br /> obtained utilizing the oil/water interface probe and the visual observations <br /> 9 <br /> August 2004 <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> I Earthgrams Baking Companies,Inc <br /> (Former Kilpatrick's Bakeries,Inc) <br /> 1717 South Center Street <br /> Stockton,California <br /> Prepared for SARA LEE BAKERY GROUP Prepared by Philip Services Corp <br /> H 1EWV1624001321121382EG\Projcas\Stockton-Center StUnvesttgatiye and Quarterly ReportslQuarteriy Report 10_2004 doc January 18,2005 <br />
