2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
' PSC subcontractor Klelnfelder, Inc performed the groundwater-monitoring on
August 30, 2004 The findings are presented in the following sections Tables for
' groundwater elevations and analytical results are Included as attached Tables
Contour maps for groundwater elevations, BTEX concentrations, and TPH-G
concentrations are included as attached Figures Field, data forms are Included in
' Appendix A Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B
2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures
Groundwater elevations were obtained from four monitoring wells (MW)
MW-1 through MW-4 Groundwater levels and the potential presence of free
phase gasoline product were measured in each well prior to sampling utilizing
an electronic oil/water interface probe In addition, prior to purging the wells,
the first bailer of purge water was visually observed for free product
Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the
' following locations MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4
Prior to sample collection, the wells were purged a minimum of three well-
casing volumes with a dedicated bailer in order to collect a representative
sample The purged water was monitored for stability utilizing the field
parameters of pH, conductivity, temperature, and the visual observation of
' water clarity The purged water was stored in 55-gallon drums and the drums
were transported to PSC's licensed California waste disposal facility
' Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were
retrieved and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were
properly labeled, and stored in an iced chest under chain-of-custody The
I samples were then submitted to the analytical laboratory for analysis
Groundwater samples were analyzed for BTEX, TPH-G, and the oxygenate
analytes (TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME)
2.2 Groundwater Elevation Measurements
' Free product was not observed among the wells, based on the measurements
obtained utilizing the oil/water interface probe and the visual observations
9
August 2004
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
I Earthgrams Baking Companies,Inc
(Former Kilpatrick's Bakeries,Inc)
1717 South Center Street
Stockton,California
Prepared for SARA LEE BAKERY GROUP Prepared by Philip Services Corp
H 1EWV1624001321121382EG\Projcas\Stockton-Center StUnvesttgatiye and Quarterly ReportslQuarteriy Report 10_2004 doc January 18,2005
