' a INTRODUCTION <br /> Philip Services Corporation (PSC) performed groundwater-monitoring activities at <br /> the former Earthgrains Baking Companies, Inc facility (Kilpatrick's Bakeries, Inc ) <br /> in April 2004 This report summarizes the results of those activities <br /> r1.1 Site Description <br /> The project site is located at 1717 South Center Street in Stockton, California <br /> ' (see Figure 1) Up to 1988, this property was operated by Kilpatrick's <br /> Bakeries, Inc as a bakery products storage depot The current property <br /> owner, Mr Ismael Rivera of Stockton, California, operates an auto body and <br /> ' furniture repair business <br /> The property comprises about 9,000 square feet, including an approximate <br /> ' 4,000 square feet, sheet metal-constructed building that is built on a slab-on- <br /> grade spread footing (see Figure 2, Site Plan) There is no basement structure <br /> associated with this building The majority of the site and the area around the <br /> former underground storage tank (UST) are paved with asphalt or concrete <br /> Other properties in the vicinity comprise a mix of commercial and residential <br /> properties Edison High School is situated about three blocks to the north An <br /> operating gasoline station, which is the subject of an existing San Joaquin <br /> County leaking UST case, is located about 1 block to the north on the east side <br /> ' of South Center Street The closest private residence to the former UST area <br /> is situated about 150 feet to the southwest The closest surface water body is <br /> the Mormon Slough, located about 4,500 feet to the north <br /> The property east of the site, across South Center Street at 1725 El Dorado <br /> Street, is a business currently operated as Glass Replacement and Supplies <br /> ' This property is situated on a traffic island between South Center and El <br /> Dorado Streets Historic information indicates that this property was formerly <br /> operated as a retail gasoline station until about 1986 <br /> 12 Chronology of UST-Related Events <br /> ' A <br /> 1,000-gallon gasoline UST located beneath the sidewalk along South <br /> Center Street, an associated fuel dispenser located within the property <br /> ' building, and the portion of product piping from the UST to the building were <br /> removed in December 1990 The remaining product piping, from the edge of <br /> 4 <br /> April 2004 <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Earthgrams Baking Companies,Inc <br /> (Former Kilpatrick s Bakeries Inc) <br /> 1717 South Center Street <br /> Stockton California <br /> Prepared for SARA LEE BAKFRV GROUP Prepared by Philip Services Corp <br /> January 18,2005 <br /> H 1ENV,62400132U21]82ECiTTuiects\Stockron Center 50invesiiganve and Quarterly Reporrs�Quarterly Report 04_2004 doc ry <br />
