In that correspondence,PHS-EHD advised that a complete <br /> Closure Report should be submitted for review before considering this site for nofi�rtberaaion(NFA). <br /> Although no deadline was established,adequate time has elapsed and this report is now past due. <br /> In order to evaluate this site for the NFA request,you are hereby directed to submit a <br /> Closure Report to PHS-EHD by October 16,2000. The report is to include answers to all of the <br /> items listed in the checklist section of the Append c B— J"i-RTornl Bwd Staff Reemmrlatr m for <br /> P iargraxry Inzatiganan and E uduatim cf UndeTmwrl Tanks Sites,Refit for Claum; dated 1 March � <br /> 1994. Included in the Closure Report should be the groundwater contamination data from the last i <br /> two consecutive quarterly monitoring events. All petroleum constituents previously detected,as well <br /> as 1,2-DCA,EDB,and total lead should be analyzed for. Refer to the LUFT manual for acceptable <br /> EPA methods and acceptable detection limits. <br /> In completing the checklist items for the Closure Report,PHS-EHD advises that items where <br /> currently no data is available may require further investigation. Mass balance calculations and fate <br /> transport models should be based on actual analytical data collected from the subsurface areas at the <br /> site and not inferred interpretations. If UNOCAL determines that further investigation is required to <br /> obtain the required data,a work plan'is to be submitted by October 16,2000 in place of the Closure <br /> Report.
