' k'i KLEINFELDER
3. Unidentified Extractable Hydrocarbons (UEH) were also detected in groundwater in boring
B1/HP-1 located in the northwestern portion of the site at 340 µg/L. However UEH was not
detected in two soil samples analyzed from the same boring. Boring B1/HP-1 is located near
the northwest corner of the subject site adjacent to the Santa Fe Pacific Petroleum Pipeline.
The source or extent of UEH in the groundwater in that area is unknown.
4. It is Kleinfelder's opinion that concentrations of metals detected in soils and groundwater
during this assessment at the proposed Tracy Multimodal Station reflect background
' concentrations rather than contaminants.
5. Methylene chloride was detected in the soil samples obtained from B6/HP-6 at depths of 5
and 10 feet and B7 at 15 feet. However, the methylene chloride is used extensively in a
analytical laboratory. Therefore, the methylene chloride detected, may have been a result of
laboratory contamination.
6. The equipment decontamination rinseate and drilling returns (soil) should be properly
disposed of by the Client. Kleinfelder can assist the Client in that disposal at an additional
charge if requested by the client.
7. If discolored soil, odors, or other evidence of contamination are encountered during any
future site grading, development, etc....., our office should be notified immediately.
8.
