(Condor) on your behalf. The
work plan was prepared in response to letters dated May 12, 2009, and October 8, 2009, from
the EHD, and electronic communications between Condor and the EHD dated January 6, 2010.
In the revised work plan, Condor proposes to install six groundwater monitoring wells, three soil
borings, and three soil gas wells at locations illustrated on Figure 3, and collect soil,
groundwater, and soil gas samples for analysis. The purpose of this investigation is to delineate
the vertical and lateral extent of groundwater and soil contamination at the identified source of
contamination and down-gradient northeast of the source area and evaluate the potential for
vapor intrusion into the structures at the site.
Most of the proposals in the work plan, Additional Vapor and Groundwater Monitoring Well Work
Plan, dated August 4, 2009, were approved with conditions by the EHD by letter dated October
8, 2009. In the revised work plan, Condor concurs with the recommendations and conditions
presented by the EHD, and the revisions approved by the EHD, are presented below:
• Monitoring well MW-4D will be installed with a screen interval between approximately
sixty and seventy feet below surface grade (bsg);
• Monitoring well MW-5 will be installed with a vertical borehole, screened between
approximately twenty-five and forty-five feet bsg. Soil samples will be collected at
five-foot intervals and samples collected at 5, 15, 25, 35, and 45 feet bsg, as well as
samples selected based on field observation, will be analyzed by a State of California
certified laboratory;
