(GeoAudit) has prepared this Work Plan for UST Closure
In Place at 1000 East Channel Street in Stockton, California (the site). The scope of work
includes the abandonment of one underground storage tank (UST) in place and drilling and
sampling of a maximum of four soil borings. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure
1. A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Description
The site is located in an industrial/commercial portion of east-central Stockton (Figure 1).
The site is currently occupied by Production Chemical Manufacturing, Inc. (PCM). PCM
specializes in the manufacturing of car care products. Four above-ground storage tanks
(approximately 6,000-gallon capacity) are present at the rear of the site (Figure 2). The
above-ground tanks are used to contain paint thinner and kerosene for the manufacturing
processes.
2.2 Underground Storage Tank Description
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon UST is currently located on-site. The UST was
used to store unleaded gasoline and kerosene and is located..beneath an above-ground tank.
However, according to representatives of PCM, the tank has not been used for storage since
July 2, 1993.
Upon approval of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD), PCM will be abandon the UST in place. The UST is approximately
10 feet in length and 5.5 feet in diameter. The bottom of the UST is at a depth of
approximately 8 to 9 feet below surface grade (bsg).
G..becal Audit Scr i r Inc. 1
r..d.Ch .Wrasyscs.-W-968-m
