(Cambria) prepared this work plan on behalf of
Equiva Services LLC to propose over-excavation activities associated with the tank,
dispenser, and piping removal at the site referenced above. The scope of work presented in
this work plan complies with San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and
Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) guidelines.
SITE BACKGROUND
Site Description: The site is currently a non-operating gasoline station located on the
southeast corner of Lincoln Street and West Charter Way in a mixed commercial and
residential area of Stockton, California (Plate 1). The site layout consists of a service station
building, two generations of dispenser islands, and an underground storage tank (UST)
complex (Plate 2).
Previous Investigations: During October 1988, two dispensers were removed and soil
impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons was observed beneath the eastern dispenser during
construction preparation activities. Soil beneath this dispenser was excavated to an
approximate depth of 15 feet below grade (fbg). Soil collected from the bottom of the
Oakland. Ca excavation contained total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) at concentrations
Sonoma. c a and benzene at concentrations ranging from
,,,.land. 08 ranging from 3 to 5.300 parts per million (ppm)
s e a t t l e. w, not detected (ND) to 31 ppm. This investigation is described in the October 9, 1990
Environmental Assessment Status Report written by Groundwater Technology, Inc. (GTI) of
Cambria West Sacramento, California.
Enviromme.tal
Technology,171G
In May 1989, GTI drilled four vertical soil borings (SB-1 through SB-4) and one angle soil
77o Perkins Street boring (AB-3) onsite.
