Texaco Refining 108 cutting Boulevard
and Marketing Inc Richmond CA 94804
/0
February 27, 1995
ENV-STUDIES SURVEYS.&REPORTS
440 W. Charter Way
Stockton, California
Ms. Linda A. Turkatte
Site Mitigation Unit
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
445 N. San Joaquin Street
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Dear Ms. Turkatte:
Texaco Environmental Services has prepared the following response to your correspondence of
February 10, 1995. Each comment is addressed sequentially below.
As requested, you will receive quarterly updates regarding the current status of all activities at this
site.
The most recently installed monitoring wells (MW-13, MW-14, MW-15, MW-16, and MW-17) were
sampled only once since they were installed. As requested, these wells will be monitored quarterly
for groundwater elevation and will be incorporated into a more frequent sampling plan which is
outlined below.
A modified sampling plan has been prepared and includes the following tasks. Depth to water will be
gauged in all wells on a quarterly basis. Monitoring wells will be sampled on the following schedule:
Quarter 1 and Quarter 3: MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7. MW-9, MW-10, MW-13, MW-14,
MW-15 and MW-16.
Quarter 2 and Quarter 4: MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-8, MW-11, MW-13, MW-15,
MW-17.
This schedule ensures that each well will be sampled at least twice per year and that downgradient
wells are sampled quarterly. The modified schedule will be implemented in March 1995 unless
directed otherwise by your office.
During the September 1994 sampling event, QAIQC blanks were labeled as MW-21 and MW-26 to
prevent the laboratory from realizing the nature of the samples. There are no wells at this location
designated as MW-21 or MW-26.
The date and time of relinquishment was inadvertently omitted by the sampler from the chain of
custody for the September 22, 1994 samplig event. During the time between sample collection and
receipt by the laboratory, the samples were maintained under refrigeration in RESNA custody.
Building on a Tradition of Quality
