IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 1055
440 W. Charter Way
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the
Quarterly Report dated July 2, 1991, submitted by Groundwater Technology, Inc.
Although progress is continuing at this site and remedial alternatives are being explored, the full lateral
extent of the groundwater contamination still needs to be physically defined.
In a telephone conversation on July 29, 1991, with Linda Turkatte, of PHS/EHD staff, you stated that you
would like to begin interim soil venting while still defining the groundwater contamination plume. A
remediation proposal should be submitted, as discussed, so that a 30 day public participation period may
be initiated by this department.
It is understood that the areas to drill additional monitoring wells around the site are limited. However, an
active approach to pursuing access to drill on these sites is warranted.
Therefore, a work plan to investigate the full extent of the groundwater contamination should be submitted
to this office by September 10, 1991.
If there are any questions or if you are unable to meet the deadline for submittal, call Linda Turkatte, EHS,
of my staff at (209)468-3442.
Jogi Khanna, I D., M.P.H.
Health fflr'
rfa /e,A.
