• Soil and Groundwater Investigation Report <br /> ARCO Facility No 2168 <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Page 5 <br /> was used to backfill the space around the well from the top of the sanitary seal to surface <br /> grade Traffic rated vault boxes were placed over the top of the well and mounted flush <br /> with the asphalt surface <br /> Monitoring wells were developed on August 24, 2000 using a surge block and <br /> groundwater pumping On August 30, 2000, Delta returned to the site to measure water <br /> levels and collect groundwater samples The third quarter 2000 groundwater monitoring <br /> event was also conducted at this time The groundwater sampling and well development <br /> field data sheets are included in Appendix B The newly installed wells will be <br /> incorporated into the site quarterly groundwater monitoring program <br /> Morrow Surveying Inc of West Sacramento, a California licensed professional land <br /> surveyor, established tap-of-well-casing elevations for the newly installed wells in <br /> August 2000 Previously installed monitoring wells and vapor extraction wells were also <br /> re-surveyed Well casing elevations were established to the nearest 0 01-foot, referenced <br /> to City of Stockton Benchmark #186, elevation 15 08 feet mean sea level (MSL) <br /> Laboratory Analysis <br /> Sequoia Analytical, Inc (Sequoia), a California state-certified analytical laboratory, <br /> analyzed the soil and groundwater samples Strict chain-of-custody procedures were <br /> followed from the time the soil samples were collected until the time the samples were <br /> delivered to the laboratory The soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes <br /> (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) using U S Environmental Protection <br /> Agency (USEPA) Method 8015/8020 DHS/LUFT, for methanol using USEPA Method <br /> 8015 Modified, and for MTBE, tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), <br /> ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dichloroethane <br /> (1,2-DCA), ethylene dibromide (EDB) and ethanol using USEPA Method 8260A Four <br /> soil samples (composite waste samples A,B,C,D) were submitted by Delta and <br /> composited into one sample by the laboratory The composite waste sample was <br /> additionally analyzed for total lead using USEPA Method 6010 Water samples were <br /> analyzed for TPHG using USEPA Method 8015 DHS/LUFT, for methanol using USEPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, and for BTEX, MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, 1,2-DCA, <br /> ethanol, and EDB using USEPA Method 8260A <br />
