�jc <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916)852-6690 <br /> Fax (916)852-6688 <br /> 1 <br /> March 12, 1993 <br /> Mr Chuck Carmel <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> P O Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> Subject Status Report, ourth Quarter 1992, for ARCO Service Station No 2168, 441 <br /> Charter Way, Stoc ton, California <br /> Mr Carmel <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), RESNA Industries (RESNA) has <br /> prepared this status report on the hard uarter 1992 ground-water monitoring event at the <br /> subject site (see Plate 1) Work consisted of measuring the depths to ground water in the <br /> wells and collecting ground-water samples for subjective and laboratory analyses This work <br /> was conducted to monitor the concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons in ground water and <br /> to evaluate the direction and gradient of ground-water flow beneath the site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> RESNA observed the drilling of four soil rings (B-1 through B-4) at the site in July 1991 <br /> during a Preliminary Tank Replacement Assessment investigation Residual gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the borings Because <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil, ARCO requested the site be added to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division pilot program on August 5, <br /> 1991. <br /> In April and May 1992, RESNA observed the drilling of eight additional soil borings (B-5 <br /> through B-12) and installation of three ground-water monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW- <br /> 3) and three vapor-extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-3). Gasoline hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in samples collected from the borings; the highest concentration of total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) was 160 parts per million (ppm) Total oil and grease <br /> (TOG), halogenated volatile organic compounds, and polychlorinated biphenyls were not <br /> detected in the samples analyzed, however, total extractable hydrocarbons were detected <br /> We concluded further investigation of soil near the gasoline tanks was not warranted <br /> ' o1ucc8r <br /> 31009-6 <br />
