We will conduct the
following tasks:
0 Obtain a drilling permit from the San Joaquin Public Health Services
(SJPHS).
0 Contact Underground Service Alert at least 48 hours before drilling to identify
public utility lines at the site.
0 Observe drilling of four 8-inch-diameter soil borings near the gasoline-storale
tanks.
0 Observe d g of three 10-inch-diameter soil borings to approximately 25
feet noofthe station building and installation of three vaporextraction
well ' the borings. The screened interval of the wells will extend 10 to 25
f
below .ri
grade
elowgrade if hydrocarbons are riot detected using the PID in the
ongsrI
around the existing tank cavity. If hydrocarbons are detected using
the PID below 25 feet, the screened interval and depth of the vapor wells will
be adjusted accordingly,
0 Collect relativelv undisturbed soil samples from each boring at 5-foot intervals
or other appropriate intervals from the ground surface to the.total boring
depth and classify the samples according to the Unified Soil Classification
System.
0 Submit soil sampies to a laboratory approved by ARCO for analysis of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPffg) and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers (BTEX).
5
LApplleaGwSystems
