Re: Remedial System Installation Report <br /> Former ARCO Station No. 2168 <br /> 441 West Charter Way <br /> Stockton, California 94570 <br /> f Dear Ms. Duncan: ` <br /> On behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO — a BP-affiliated company), URS Corporation <br /> Americas (URS) has prepared this report to document remedial system installation at the ARCO Station <br /> s <br /> No. 2168 at 441 West Charter Way in Stockton, California (Figure 1). In addition to remedial system <br /> installation the scope of work included the destruction of one monitoring well and 7 vapor extraction <br /> r wells and the installation of four groundwater monitoring wells and 21 soil vapor extraction (SVE)/air <br /> sparging (AS) wells. The groundwater monitoring wells were installed to monitor downgradient <br /> groundwater concentrations and evaluate the effectiveness of the SV.E/AS remediation system. <br /> I The purpose of the treatment system is to remediate petroleum impacted groundwater located in three <br /> different hydrologic zones beneath the site. The'system includes 22 SVE/AS wells supplying air to the <br /> r subsurface using an air injection system.supplied by Recovery Equipment Inc. of Bend Oregon (REI). <br /> f ' REI also refurbished the oxidizer used as part of the soil vapor extraction system. The installation was <br /> `-' conducted between December 2005 and August 2006, in accordance with the URS Work plan for the <br /> Abandonment of a Groundwater Monitoring Well, Installation of an Interim Soil Vapor Extraction/Air <br /> Sparge Groundwater Treatment System, and Installation of Groundwater Monitoring Wells, dated June <br /> 9, 2005, and the three addendums of the same name dated September 14, 2005, October 5, 2005 and <br /> October 20, 2005. The work plan and work plan addendums were approved by the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) in letters dated June 23, September 26, October 10, <br /> F October 26, 2005 and February 22, 2006(Attachment A). The SJCEHD well destruction and installation <br /> permits are included as Attachment B. <br /> # . SITE BACKGROUND <br /> F. The site is located at the northeastern corner of West Charter Way and Lincoln Street in Stockton, <br /> California, as shown on the site location map (Figure 1).
